He created his guitars, mandolins and fiddles by hand…and used springs, saw blades and Dixie cups to construct them. The Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra opens the season October 17th with a program concentrating on Russian music. Later in the year the orchestra will include Ellington, cartoons and Mozart. We talked with the conductor, Steven Byess.
