Ahead on this edition of Ozarks, how lasers have gone from a phenomenon on The Jetsons to a part of daily life. We speak with a Stanford University professor who has been teaching about the light-emitting device since 1969. Nearly 90 undergraduate students were awarded the Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship grants of up to $2,500 to conduct research. Joseph O'Neil is a senior majoring in horticulture in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. His is the first in an Ozark at Large series of interviews with U of A Honor College students and their faculty mentors regarding the research work they've undertaken.
