Ahead on Ozarks, the U.S. Geological Survey is investigating an increase of tremors in Oklahoma, and Adam Posnak uses African-inspired religions' and cultures' images for his pottery. His latest exhibit opens this week in Fayetteville.The summer months provide plenty to see in galleries around the region, including Adam Posnak's solo exhibit at Sugar Gallery in Fayetteville.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is stepping up enforcement this weekend on the state's lakes and rivers in an effort to decrease incidents of boating while intoxicated. Plus, the Rogers Fire Department embraces new technology with a smartphone app that informs people in public of nearby incidents of cardiac arrest.
The University of Arkansas' Center for Spatial Technologies is featured in a new series on PBS. There will also be a public premier screening in Vol Walker Hall on campus Tuesday night.
The issue of a potential prohibition on video gambling was a late addition to the agenda of this week's special legislative session in Little Rock. During a recent visit to the studio, Don't Stop Please performed an original song called Henry and the Great Salt Lake.
Changes have already been made to the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, with more changes still to come. Although the state's unemployment rate didn't change from May to June, that doesn't take into account several layoffs that have happened in the past month. Gas prices have been on the rise across Arkansas, with still higher prices on the horizon. And 39 permits have been issued for retail liquor sales in Benton County, leaving 16 potential permits still up for grabs.
